Sorely Mistaken

Some surgery updates:
It is still scheduled for the 28th. I arrive at 0530 and am first up (actually the only one up for the drs. this day) for 0730 surgery.
At preop they told me that it is normally a 3-5 hour procedure and another 2 for recovery. Anson will call Dad and Jo when I am in my room and they can pass along the info from there.
I called the liaison today to ask if she had mailed out my FMLA paperwork as I need to turn this in to Hapag Lloyd by the time I leave on Wednesday and she said that she was filling it out as we spoke.
I said " Let me clarify, the doctor said 3 weeks, so that puts me back to work 9/17?"
Wendy: " Oh no sweetie. I don't know where you heard 3 weeks."
Me: " The doctor said"
Wendy:" The doctor may have said 3 weeks, but obviously did not finish his sentence."
Me: "gulp"
Wendy: " You will be immobile for 3 weeks."
Me: " Bigger gulp"
Wendy: " Your estimated time back to work is 10/27, but it could take up to 6 months. You will be periodically evaluated."
Me: " BIG Gulp and Gasp"
My manager: "puke"
I guess I was wrong, eh?

Anson and Mykhaila are flying up to Sault Ste. Marie, MI the 3rd week of Sept. during her fall break. I thought I would be going back to work then and it would be fine.
His family is from there and have a ton of land that overlooks the St Mary's River, which seperates Sault Ste. Marie, MI and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario This is the oldest city in Michigan and home to the Soo Locks. It is a special trip and I really do not want them to miss out. I will feel horrible.
Krissie says that she can probably come up. Jorge will be thrilled, but he is used to helping out with the kids with her strange hospital hours, so I guess it would not be that different.
My Mom usually jumps at these chances to be with me and confirm what a wimp I am, but she is now full time granny to Baby Davey while Sarah teaches.
It will work out. I have friends that are kind enough to say I am welcome to stay at their homes and they will take good care of me.... we'll see...
I have a busy few days ahead of me, so I am not sure if I will be checking in before then or not.
